Next week, at the Higher Ed-Student Affairs (HESA) program's Graduate Assistant Placement Program (GAPP) candidates will be able to interview for my position.
I'm not entirely sure if I'll be working for the Office of Orientation in the fall to help ease the transition for the new person or if I'll just have to make really good notes and be available for questions. I'm also not sure of which I'd prefer at this point. While I love my job and work with some great people, there are other "occupational hazards" that come with it. Also, if I'm looking for an actual job for when I graduate in December, will I be too bogged down with class, a GA and the job search process?
It's really out of my hands at this point. If there's room and money for me, great--I'd love to finish out this position on a strong note and bring back what I learn this summer. If there's not a position for me, great--I'll know that I've made an impact and accept that it's time to move on.
I kind of just want to know one way or the other before the summer gets too close.

I actually got an opportunity to read your blog, and I LOVE it. I think I wanted to comment on this particular post, though, to tell you:
ReplyDeleteA) I am tremendously honored to be your successor, considering I'm pretty sure I bartered with you for Tiger Sauce at Clemson during SROW 2005 (honestly it could have been another LSU Ambassador, but you stand out in my mind for some reason), and...
B) I think I have some pretty big shoes to fill, but I'm really excited for the challenge!
