I'm making my return to Auburn for the first time since last summer this week and have a lot to look forward to! So, in the vein of fellow blogger and one of the Head Camp Counselors that I worked with over the summer, Codi, I wanted to list some of what I'm most excited about experiencing while I'm in town.

  • Parent Counselor Callouts--Auburn has a tradition when selecting certain student leaders to announce them in a main common area of campus. It's a big to-do and, from what I've been told, everyone is pumped to welcome the newest leaders!
  • FYE Staff--Though I've spoken with all of them off and on over the last few months and even saw Jenn & Ella at NODAC in Anaheim, it will be great to spend some time with them. I'm also looking forward to seeing the students and hearing all about how the year has treated them.
  • Toomer's Lemonade--One of the must-haves on any trip to Auburn, it's pretty indescribable.
  • Campaign Week--Auburn does their Student Government elections very, very differently than LSU so it should be interesting to see. As an added bonus, a number of camp counselors from last summer are in elections and it will be nice to wish them well!
  • Unique Eateries--Momma G's Momma's Love (amazing and delicious sandwich) Niffer's (corn nuggets mmmm....), Panera Bread and Five Guys Burgers & Fries specifically since we don't have any of those in or anywhere near Baton Rouge
  • War Damn Understanding-- Finally, people won't look at me weird if I say "War Eagle!"
