Since it's been a very long time and I'm still working on moving into my new apartment, I'll run through a bulleted list of what's going on and what's to come.
- Tour de Tejas was amazing! It was great to see good friends and hear some great music. The Fray in Dallas was beyond words. Seeing Jason Mraz in Atlanta was made 20 times better because of the company! I had a really good time everywhere I traveled but it got to be a lot to do on my own especially since there's pretty much nothing in Texas outside of Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio as far as I saw.
- Being back in Baton Rouge meant that I seriously had to move out of my apartment and into my new place. It's been a big hassle and the weather hasn't helped much since it tends to rain every afternoon when I start to load my car. Today, I finally saw the light and should be finished by tomorrow depending on how long it takes to clean things. Also, I am completely baffled at how much stuff I've had to buy for this apartment- you would think after living out of my parents' house for seven years, I would have accumulated a kitchen table and vacuum cleaner. Thankfully, I've got some great offers from people who are upgrading! Hopefully Teague and Miles don't get too crazy in their new home!
- I'm still researching jobs and should have more to post on them later. It's pretty early but I'm hoping that I'll find something that I will love and can stay in the south sooner rather than later. Also, while in Houston, I sort of connected with a former Dean of Students from a number of universities and plan to use her as a resource through this process.
- I've been gearing up for my return to LSU and the Office of Orientation. While I don't have a set date, I plan on easing myself back into the groove over the next few weeks. We have orientation scheduled for August 17-20 so I'll definitely be back in full effect by then! Ryann and I will get the chance to present our Commuter Student Success presentation at Bengal Bound as well which should be fun. I had aspirations of developing a video to accompany the session (a la Tigers in a New Territory) but didn't have the time or technology to get it taken care of in time. I'm still considering it for Spring Invitational even though I'll be gone by then.
- On my way back from Texas, I got some amazing news... but I can't tell you just yet. It was the big project that I worked on while I was in Auburn and I could not be happier about how it's turned out. Within a week or so, I should be able to spill the beans and provide you with a sneak peek at what I put together!
